Duke Defeats Boston College 6-1 in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke collected a 6-1 ACC victory over visiting Boston College on Sunday afternoon at Ambler Tennis Stadium. The Eagles fell to 6-14 (0-11 ACC) while the Blue Devils improved to 10-11 (4-6 ACC).
Conor Mullins secured the BC point as he defeated Vincent Lin in No. 5 singles with Lin retiring in the second set.
Derek Austin had a back-and-forth No. 1 singles matchup against Spencer Furman but fell in a third set tiebreaker 7-4 after taking the second set 6-0. Markus Nordby nearly won his first set against Robert Levine from the No. 3 slot, but dropped a tiebreaker 7-4 before losing the second set 6-2.
Sean Mullins was also competitive in No. 6 singles but suffered a 7-5, 6-4 defeat to Jason Lapidus.
Boston College closes the regular season with three home matches next weekend, beginning against Clemson on Friday (April 12). BC then hosts a Senior Day doubleheader on Sunday (April 14) against Georgia Tech and Bentley.Â
