Eagles Make Carolina Trip to Face No. 11 UNC and Duke

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College (6-12, 0-9 ACC) makes its final regular season road trip this weekend as it heads to North Carolina to face No. 11 UNC on Friday (April 5) at 4:30 p.m. and Duke on Sunday (April 7) at 12 p.m.
HOLY CROSS RECAP
Boston College won all six singles matches on Wednesday to defeat Holy Cross 6-1 in non-conference action at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility. The Eagles collected their sixth win of the season and their first road victory.
After dropping the doubles point to the Crusaders, BC won every singles match in straight sets. Chris Grasel, Markus Nordby, Wills Tutecky, Santiago Montufar, Max Palmer and Will Conigliaro combined to lose a total of 26 games to Holy Cross.Â
Tutecky was perfect in No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep, while Grasel paired with Adriano Barilla to win at No. 3 doubles.Â
SCOUTING NORTH CAROLINA
The Tar Heels remained 11th in the ITA rankings this week. UNC has a pair of singles players ranked among the top-35 nationally in William Blumberg (27th) and Benjamin Siguoin (35th), while Joshua Peck sits 104th overall. Blumberg and Bo Boyden rank 34th in the country in doubles, followed by the team of Boyden and Anudeep Kodali at No. 61. Sean Mullins earned BC's lone point at home against UNC last season in a 6-1 defeat on the Heights.Â
SCOUTING DUKE
The Blue Devils snapped a three-match losing skid last Sunday by beating Louisville 4-1 on the road. Duke enters the weekend at 8-11 (2-6 ACC) and hosts Notre Dame on Friday night before the Eagles arrive in Durham. The Blue Devils' only nationally ranked singles player is Nick Stachowiak at No. 85. The Eagles have fallen 7-0 to Duke in each of the last two seasons, but they took two points in a 5-2 loss back in 2016 on the Heights.Â

Boston College closes the regular season next weekend with three home matches, starting with Clemson on Friday, April 12. BC then hosts a Senior Day doubleheader on Sunday, April 14 against Georgia Tech and Bentley.Â
