Eagles Come Up Short at No. 11 North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – 11th-ranked North Carolina earned a 6-1 ACC victory over visiting Boston College on Friday night at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center. The Eagles dropped to 6-13 (0-10 ACC), while the Tar Heels moved to 15-4 (7-2 ACC).

BC's lone point in Chapel Hill came from Wills Tutecky in the No. 6 singles matchup against Ladd Harrison following a second set tiebreaker.

Derek Austin fell by a single break in the first set from the No. 1 slot against No. 35 Benjamin Sigouin but fell in the second set 6-1. Max Mendelsohn sent his first set to a tiebreaker against Blaine Boyden but lost in straight sets in No. 4 singles.

Chris Grasel and Markus Nordby had a 5-4 lead in No. 2 doubles but UNC clinched the opening point by winning at No. 1 and 3.

Boston College remains in North Carolina to face Duke on Sunday (April 7) at 12 p.m.
