The ACC Tournament kicks off with the Eagles and Cardinals
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 1 Boston College women's lacrosse team begins their postseason journey as they are set to kick off the ACC Tournament, Wednesday at 11:00 am as they take on Louisville at Alumni Stadium. The entire tournament will be available to watch locally on NESNplus and the ACC Network Extra.
Last weekend, the Eagles capped off their second consecutive perfect regular season, claiming rights to the ACC regular season title after a 19-6 win over Louisville. Dempsey Arsenault paved the way, putting up a game-high seven points through six goals and a helper. Junior Cara Urbank followed just behind with six points through three goals and three assists as the Eagles hopped to a 10-goal run for the second game in a row.
The two teams also met in the quarterfinals last year, as BC took another 19-6 win over Louisville to advance to the semifinals. The Eagles would go on to take down Notre Dame as well, 17-7, finding their way to the ACC Championship game and suffering their first loss of the season, 14-11 to North Carolina. A win for the Eagles would mark their fourth-straight season appearing in the semifinals.
The Eagles headlined the All-ACC teams with a unanimous vote for Sam Apuzzo, while Kenzie Kent, Dempsey Arsenault and Elizabeth Miller joined her on the First Team. Sophomore goalkeeper Abbey Ngai made her first appearance with a placement on the Second Team.
As the tournament continues, the winner of BC vs. Louisville will take on the winner of Syracuse vs. Virginia. The Eagles ended the regular season with a perfect 7-0 conference record.
