Dolby Fans 11 In 4-0 Win Over Fairfield

Freshman Camryn Dolby fans a career-high 11 in her eighth win of the season.
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Freshman Camryn Dolby tossed a one-hitter with a career-high 11 strikeouts to lead Boston College (13-23) past Fairfield (17-14), 4-0, at the Harrington Athletics Village on Wednesday in a non-conference game.
Dolby, a native of Virginia, gave up one hit in the fourth inning and struck out 11 batters on her way to her eighth win of the season. She had six strikeouts through the first three innings.
Senior Lexi DiEmmanuele had two hits with a season-high three stolen bases, while freshman Gianna Randazza went 2-for-3 at the plate. Freshmen Ellie Mataya and Kennedy Labshere each had an RBI in the win.
BC took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning as Kennedy Labshere knocked in the run with a bases loaded infield ground ball.
The game opened up in the fifth inning when BC scored three runs on two hits and two errors by the Stags. Sophomore Emme Martinez started the inning with a single up the middle. She scored on error by the Fairfield outfielder on a long drive to left by Gianna Boccagno. BC's second run was scored on a ground ball to third by Mataya and Boccagno scored on a wild pitch.
Dolby closed out the game in the seventh by striking out the final two batters of the game.
