
BC Lineup Scores Early and Often in Win Over Quinnipiac

Eagles score in seven of eight turns at bat.
BC scored in each of the first six innings; building a 7-1 lead after the third. The Eagles responded to the first Quinnipiac run of the day with three runs in the third. Senior third baseman Jake Alu (Hamilton, N.J.) hit a leadoff-double down the right field line and scored on a two-out double by freshman first baseman Ramon Jimenez (Chicopee, Mass.). Junior right fielder Joe Suozzi (Glen Cove, N.Y.) extended the scoring with a two-run home run to left field.
The top three hitters in the Boston College lineup combined to go 9-for-13. Alu was 3-for-5 with three RBI out of the three-hole, while sophomore left fielder Chris Galland (Sudbury, Mass.) scored three times and was on base in each of his first plate appearances from the leadoff spot. Junior shortstop Brian Dempsey (Potomac, Md.), batting second, added a 4-for-5 game with a double and a RBI.
The Eagles used six pitchers on the day beginning with freshman right-hander Joe Mancini (Fairfield, Conn.). Working on a scheduled short-start, Mancini (3-5) worked two-scoreless innings with one hit against and two strikeouts on 38 pitches.

The Eagles wrap up a 10-game homestand with an ACC series against No. 17 Georgia Tech beginning Friday, April 12 at 6 p.m. Saturday will be BC's annual "Military Appreciation" game with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
