BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Boston College softball team (11-17, 3-4 ACC) scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 4-3 victory from ACC foe NC State (17-15, 0-7 ACC) at the Harrington Athletics Village on Friday.
BC took a 1-0 lead behind two walks to open the third inning. Freshman Kennedy Labshere picked up the RBI on an infield grounder to shortstop to plate freshman Maddison Hamilton.
NC State responded in the fourth inning as Randi Farricker hit a three-run homerun to right to take a 3-1 lead. Â BC freshman pitcher Camryn Dolby came on in relief and got out of the inning with a strikeout.
The Wolfpack held the lead through the sixth inning behind the pitching of Devin Wallace. The junior took a no-hitter into the seventh when BC sophomore Emme Martinez lined a single into center. Freshman catcher Gianna Boccagno laced a single to left to knock NC State starter Sydney Nester out of the game.
After Jenna Ergle walked to load the bases, senior Allyson Moore took a 2-and-2 pitch to left field to plate Martinez and Boccagno to tie the game at three.  NC State cut down Ergle trying to score the winning run and Moore moved to third. She scored the game-winning run on a fielder's choice off the bat of Hamilton.
