
Dolby Shines in 10-2 Win Over Syracuse

Freshman pitcher strikes out five, allows just two hits.
BRIGHTON, Mass. – Freshman pitcher Camryn Dolby picked up her sixth win of the season to lead Boston College past ACC foe Syracuse, 10-2, in six innings at the Harrington Athletics Village on Saturday.
Boston College improved to 10-15Â overall and 2-3 the ACC. Syracuse is now 9-18 and 1-4 in the conference. The Eagles and Orange will play the final game of the three-game series on Sunday at noon.
Dolby, a native of Virginia, had five strikeouts and gave up just two hits in the win. She picked up her fifth win with six strikeouts in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Orange. Dolby leads the Eagles with 61 strikeouts.
Senior Allyson Moore led the offense with three hits, two RBI and a run, while senior Lexi DiEmmanuele had two hits, two runs and a stolen base. Freshman Gianna Boccagno went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Freshman leftfielder Ellie Mataya had a two-run single and scored two runs.
Syracuse scored two runs on one hit in the first inning. The Eagles responded with one run in the first when DiEmmanuele scored on a passed ball.
With the Orange up, 2-1, Dolby shut down Syracuse in the second inning with two strikeouts and a ground out.
The Eagles blew the game open in the second inning. Â Maddison Hamilton singled, followed by a walk by Jules Trevino. With two on, DiEmmanuele loaded the bases with a bunt single. Mataya hit a two-run single and took second on the throw home. Emme Martinez would hit a single between third and short to score DiEmmanuele and BC led 4-2. Boccagno hit a double to right scoring both Mataya and Martinez and BC was up, 6-2. Moore would single to score Boccagno, and she would score on a single from Carlie Sanders.
BC scored seven runs on nine hits to take an 8-2 lead.
Dolby would breeze through the lineup as she did not let up a hit to Syracuse until sixth inning. Toni Martin doubled but Dolby would get the next two batters to fly out, to hold the Orange scoreless.
BC iced the game in the sixth when Martinez double to right scoring Mataya, who started the inning with a walk. The winning run was scored by Carly Severini, who pinch ran for Martinez. The senior scored on a single up the middle from Moore.
