Eagles Fall to No. 36 Miami in South Florida

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Boston College men's tennis suffered a 4-0 setback on Sunday afternoon in ACC play against No. 36 Miami at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. The Eagles dropped to 4-8 overall and 0-5 in conference, while Miami won its fifth straight match.
The Hurricanes (13-4, 5-0 ACC) began the match by winning the doubles point through a pair of 6-2 victories in the No. 2 and 3 slots.
Chris Grasel was defeated in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 by Dane Dunlap in No. 2 singles, followed by straight set victories from Stephen Madonia and William Grattan-Smith over Conor Mullins and Sean Mullins to clinch the match for Miami.Â
Max Mendelsohn won his first set against No. 71 Bojan Jankulovski in a tiebreaker but the match went unfinished. Derek Austin and Markus Nordby were trailing their matches in the second set in No. 1 and 3 singles.
The Eagles host three matches next weekend, including ACC matchups with No. 27 NC State on Friday (March 22) and second-ranked Wake Forest on Sunday (March 24). In between on Saturday, BC welcomes Sacred Heart to the Flynn Recreation Complex in non-conference action.
