
Eagles Begin Homestand Against Binghamton and Virginia Tech

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 47 Boston College women's tennis (9-5, 1-5 ACC) will play four of its next five matches at home, beginning with a pair this weekend against Binghamton on Saturday (March 16) at 1:30 p.m. and Virginia Tech on Sunday (March 17) at 11 a.m. in ACC play.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
Since starting the season 9-0, BC is now looking to snap a five-match losing skid. The Eagles are 8-2 this season at the Flynn Recreation Complex. Following historic upsets of top-10 opponents against No. 2 North Carolina, Yufei Long (T-67th) and Kylie Wilcox (75th) both moved up in the latest ITA singles rankings on March 5. As a team, BC fell to No. 47 nationally after road losses to Wake Forest and Clemson two weekends ago.

SCOUTING BINGHAMTON
The Bearcats are winless on the season at 0-15 and will host Marist on Friday night before making the trip to Chestnut Hill. Libby McGovern is in her ninth year as the head coach of the program. Her team finished last season at 4-14 overall.

SCOUTING VA TECH
The Hokies defeated UAB 7-0 on Wednesday at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center and will face Syracuse on the road this afternoon before traveling to Chestnut Hill. Virginia Tech enters the weekend at 7-7 overall and 1-4 in the ACC. Natalie Novotna is the highest ranked singles player for the Hokies at No. 101 nationally in the ITA rankings. Last year in late March, Boston College suffered a tight 4-3 defeat to the Hokies in Blacksburg as Jackie Urbinati and Dasha Possokhova earned singles victories.
