SETTING THE SCENE
Senior captain Aaron Taylor and sophomore Parker Biele finished inside the top-25 of the Dartmouth Carnival giant slalom last Sunday, which was a makeup for the postponed event at the Dartmouth Skiway. Taylor skied a combined time of 2:02.53 for 22nd overall in the men's race, posting a top-20 time in his second run. Biele was 22nd after the first run before finishing 24th in the women's GS with a time of 2:07.99.
Both skiers had several standout performances this season. Biele took 18th in the giant slalom at the St. Lawrence Carnival to open the EISA season, then set a new career-best finish with 17th in the GS at the UVM Carnival. Taylor earned a pair of top-20 finishes at the UVM Carnival in Stowe, collecting 16th in the GS to match his top career finish followed by 19th in the slalom.
CLASS OF 2019
Taylor, along with fellow captain Amanda Steffey, Dannica Ashnault, and Natalie Wetmore, will be skiing in their final EISA event this weekend. Steffey had two top-30 finishes as a freshman in 2016, including 25th at the EISA Championships at Middlebury. Ashnault's best two performances came in the slalom, placing 24th at Dartmouth in 2016 and UVM in 2017. Earlier this month, Wetmore posted her first career top-25 with 21st overall in the UVM slalom.Â
