Eagles Sweep ACC Weekly Awards

Seniors Sam Apuzzo and Lauren Daly have earned conference nods following a comeback win at Syracuse
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) -- Seniors Sam Apuzzo and Lauren Daly have swept the second week of Atlantic Coast Conference awards following the No. 1 Eagles' comeback win at Syracuse on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Apuzzo earned ACC Offensive Player of the Week nods as she propelled the BC offense to erase a 7-2 deficit early in the first half of Saturday's contest. The senior found the back of the net seven times and assisted on two additional goals. With her fifth goal of the game, Apuzzo surpassed Covie Stanwick '15 and took hold of the all-time goals record at BC. She currently totals 199 goals over her career.
Daly played a vital role in the comeback effort, notching a career-high 12 saves on the day. Pulling off nine saves in the second half alone, she halted the Orange's offensive efforts, allowing just five goals off of 14 shots-on-goal to wrap up the game and secure the win for the Eagles.
The sweep marks the first time this season that both Apuzzo and Daly have reigned in weekly conference honors. Apuzzo was honored a league-high four times last season while Daly claimed recognition in two consecutive weeks.
