
BC Set to Host Maine on Senior Weekend

Boston College (21-10-0, 17-7-0 HEA) is coming off a 4-1 win over No. 3 Northeastern on Tuesday night in the Beanpot Tournament consolation game. Daryl Watts scored twice, Ryan Little collected two assists and Maddy McArthur made a career-high 33 saves for the win. Megan Keller (17-22-39) leads the team in points while Watts (18-17-35) is second. In total, seven Eagles have at least 20 points so far, the second most in nation.

Maine (14-13-4, 7-13-4 HEA) is coming off a 2-1 loss and a 2-2 tie at home against Providence. Celine Tedenby scored in both games for Maine and leads the team in scoring with 26 points on 12 goals and 14 assists. Carly Jackson has started the last 19 contests for Maine and sits at 9-11-4 overall on the year with a 1.93 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

ABOUT BOSTON COLLEGE
• The Eagles topped No. 3 Northeastern on Tuesday night, 4-1, in the Beanpot consolation game ... Daryl Watts scored twice while Maddy McArthur made a career-high 33 saves in the win.
• BC had suffered a 4-1 loss to Harvard in the Beanpot semifinal round Feb. 5, ending a six-game winning streak.
• The Eagles got back in the win column on Feb. 8 with a 7-1 victory against UNH at Kelley Rink ... Megan Keller had four points and Kelly Pickreign made 18 saves for her first career win ... seven BC players finished with multiple points in the win, which ended a two-game skid against the Wildcats.Â
• Keller (17-22-39) leads the team in points while Watts (18-17-35) is second ... in total, seven Eagles have at least 20 points so far.
• Maddy McArthur (19-9-0, .913 save percentage, 2.00 goals against average, five shutouts) has played most of the minutes in goal, but both Molly Barrow and Pickreign have picked up wins for BC.
• The Eagles have played 11 games in 2019, going 8-3-0 in those contests ... BC is 4-1-0 in the last five and 8-2-0 in the last 10.
ABOUT MAINE
• The Black Bears came out of a home series against Providence last weekend with a 2-1 loss and a 2-2 tie.
• Celine Tedenby scored in both games for Maine ... Tedenby is 14th in Hockey East in scoring with 26 points on 12 goals and 14 assists.
• Alyson Matteau blocked 13 shots in the 2-2 tie ... she leads the conference with 103 blocks.
• Carly Jackson has started the last 19 contests for Maine ... she is 9-11-4 on the year and has a 1.93 goals against average and .925 save percentage ... all three of her shutouts on the year have come in the last 12 contests.
• The Black Bears are currently eighth in the Hockey East standings with 18 points, three points back of UConn and UNH.
• BC earned its 20th win of the season on Feb. 8 against UNH, making it one of five teams in the country to hit that mark this season.
• The Eagles have seven players with at least 20 points ... that's the second most in the country behind Minnesota's eight players with 20-plus points.
• Lindsay Agnew scored the team's 100th goal in that game ... BC is one of seven teams to hit that plateau.
• Kali Flanagan and Ryan Little each played in their 149 career games, tied for eighth in program history.
• Freshman Kelly Browne is second among conference rookies and tied for sixth overall in face-off wins with 284 ... she led all freshman in the country in face-off wins in the month of November with 75.
• Megan Keller has registered at least one point in 24 of her 30 games played this season and had 11 multi-point outings.
• BC is the only Hockey East school that has three goaltenders on the roster with at least one win this season.
• Caitrin Lonergan's .605 face-off winning percentage is third in the league.
• Daryl Watts is fourth in Hockey East with an average of 5.03 shots on goal per game while Lonergan is sixth with an average of 4.28.
• Among forwards, Makenna Newkirk's 45 blocks leads all of Hockey East and is eighth in the country.
• BC started Hockey East play 5-0-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season.

KELLER MAKES THE CASE
• Megan Keller leads all defensemen nationally in scoring with 39 points on 17 goals and 22 assists.
• The senior leads all defenders or is tied for first in goals, assists, points, goals per game (0.57), points per game (1.30), power-play goals (6) and game-winning goals (5).
• Princeton's Claire Thompson sits second with 25 points while the next-closest points per game average is Cornell's Jaime Bourbonnais at 1.05.Â
• Among all skaters in the country, Keller ranks in the top 15 in points, goals, assists, power-play points, game-winning goals and points per game.
• The last defender to average at least 1.25 points per game for a season was Keller when she finished her sophomore 2015-16 season at 1.27 per game.
• Keller has 108 shots on goal and is averaging 3.60 shots on goal per game, with both of those numbers ranking third among blue liners.
• She has 41 blocks and a plus-34 rating.
• The Farmington Hills, Mich. native set a new Hockey East single-season points record for a defender on Jan. 25 against Providence and set the single-season goals record on Feb. 8 versus UNH.
• With the goal against the Wildcats, she became the sixth player in program history to reach 150 career points.
• She has a 15-20-35 scoring line in conference play, good for second overall.
• In the month of January, Keller was on the ice for 71 percent of BC's even-strength goals.
• She was named the Hockey East Player of the Month for January ... it was the first time a defenseman has been named Player of the Month since she took home the honor for February 2017.

NEWKIRK'S NOTE
• Makenna Newkirk has quietly put together another 25-plus point season for the Eagles, notching 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points.
• The senior leads the team with seven power-play assists.
• She is third on the team in blocked shots with 45, tops among forwards ... it leads all forwards in the conference and is eighth in the country.
• While Newkirk has not scored a game-winning goal this season, she has assisted on seven of them ... she tallied a game-winning assist in four consecutive contests Oct. 11-20.
• The captain currently has a three-game point streak ... she has registered at least one point in seven of the last eight games ... she has nine points over those eight games.
• She has had three different point streak of four-or-more games, including a stretch of nine Nov. 1-Dec. 1.Â
• Newkirk is the only active player in NCAA hockey that has finished in the top 25 in scoring in each of the last three seasons.

• As the Eagles head towards the postseason, several players are heating up.
• Riding a nine-game point streak, Caitrin Lonergan has put up 13 points over that span ... the junior has three multi-point outings during that streak.
• Daryl Watts has picked up nine points in the last five games ... the sophomore has registered two points in four out of the last five games ... Watts has a five-game point streak.
• Captain Makenna Newkirk has a three-game point streak ... she has registered at least one point in seven of the last eight games ... she has nine points over those eight games.Â
• After being held without a point in four consecutive contests and eight of the previous 10, Cayla Barnes has put up five points in her last four games.Â
• Serena Sommerfield five points in the last five games.
• Freshman Kelly Browne has seven points in the last five games ... two of her games were multi-point efforts.

• The Eagles' defensive corps is first in the nation in points (100), points per game (3.23), goals (27), goals per game (0.87), assists (73). assists per game (2.35)and shots on goal (348).
• BC blue liners are tied for first in power-play goals (10), game-winning goals (8),Â
• Megan Keller (17-22-39) leads all blue liners in points while Cayla Barnes (4-16-20) is tied for 13th and leads all rookie blue liners.
• The BC defense has chipped in on 27% of the squad's goals (27/105), 40% of the assists (73/181) and 35% of the overall points (100/286).
• Cayla Barnes' assist on Daryl Watts' goal against Northeastern on Feb. 12 marked the 100th point by the Eagles' defense this season ... BC is the only team to hit that mark, with Minnesota's 77 second.
