Emma Guy Tallies Career-High 30 Points in 96-69 Loss to No. 14/15 Syracuse

Junior Emma Guy returns home to upstate New York with a 30-point effort vs. Syracuse.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior Emma Guy finished with a career-high 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in Boston College's, 96-69, loss to No. 15/14 Syracuse, 96-69, in the Carrier Dome in an ACC match on Sunday afternoon.

With the win, Boston College is now 14-10 and 3-8 in the ACC, while Syracuse improved to 18-5 and 7-3 in the conference.

Guy was hot from the start as she had nine points and seven boards after the first quarter. At the half, the Penfield, N.Y. native was one rebound shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. She finished the game shooting 11-for-18 from the floor, 8-for-11 from the foul line and grabbed a career-high 10 offensive boards, 14 total rebounds in the game.

Syracuse came out with a quick 5-0 spurt. The Eagles slowly cut into the lead behind two straight buckets from Guy. The Orange attacked from the outside, as they hit four three-pointers to take a 26-15 lead after the first 10 minutes.

The Orange lead grew to 16 points with 7:37 to play in the half, after they hit two more three-pointers. BC battled back as behind a Dicken's three-pointer and jumper from Guy. With 4:41 to play, BC was down just 10 points. The long-range attack continued as Syracuse hit three more from the arc to extend the lead, 53-34 at the half.

The second half was an uphill battle for Boston College. Despite 11 points in the third quarter from Guy, BC could not cut into the lead as Syracuse led 73-53 after three quarters. The closest BC got in the second half was 20 points at the start of the fourth quarter after a drive by Taylor Soule.
