BC to visit the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute on Tuesday
HOOVER, Ala. – The Boston College football team held its final practice of the 2019 season Tuesday morning at Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala.
Â
BC hit the field in just helmets for a quick, 90-minute workout.
Â
Following practice, the team is visiting the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute on Tuesday before a night of bowling and BBQ from Dreamland. The Eagles will compete against Cincinnati in bowling at Tuesday night's bowl event.
Â
"This year's bowl events had a ton of stuff with both teams attending," said Boston College quarterback Dennis Grosel. "We had a comedy show last night that Cincinnati attended as well along with a financial symposium, which was a really interesting talk. It has been a really good week and an awesome experience in Birmingham."
Â
Monday's bowl activities include a visit by 25 student-athletes and interim head coach Rich Gunnell to the Children's Hospital in Birmingham. The bowl provided a Regions Financial Symposium for the team Monday afternoon along with a team dinner at the Stardome Comedy Club Monday night.
Â
With all of the bowl events for the student-athletes, the most important part of the trip has not changed for the team: win the last game for the seniors. "We want to send the seniors out with a win and send them out the right way," said Grosel.
Â
NOTES: Boston College heads to Legion Field for the first time Wednesday for a brief walk-through and press conference with interim head coach Rich Gunnell along with senior captains Ben Glines and Tanner Karafa. Following the press conference at Legion Field, the team departs for the final walk-through of the season at Hoover High School before a pep rally Wednesday evening in downtown Birmingham … new Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley is scheduled to attend Thursday's TicketSmarter Birmingham Bowl. He will watch the game from a press box suite at Legion Field with William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond.
