No. 12 Eagles Host Yale Tuesday Night on the Heights

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – 12th-ranked Boston College looks to extend its five-game winning streak with a pre-Thanksgiving matchup against the ECAC's Yale Bulldogs on Tuesday (Nov. 26) at Kelley Rink at 7 p.m. The game will air live on CBS All-Access ($) with audio on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.TV beginning at 6:45 p.m. The Eagles (7-4-0, 5-2-0 HEA) were idle this past weekend and rank 12th and 14th in this week's national polls.

ROUNDING INTO FORM
• Boston College is riding a five-game winning streak, tied for the fourth longest unbeaten streak in the nation
• During those five games, the Eagles have outscored their opponents by a total of 22-4
• The power play is 7-for-22 (31.8%) and the penalty kill is 16-for-19 (84.2%) during that span
• BC's shot totals have risen to an average of 36.0 per game with a +40 shot margin over the last five
• Spencer Knight owns a 0.80 GAA and .971 SV% with two shutouts during the win streak

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
• Yale enters Tuesday night at 2-6-0 through eight games, all in ECAC play
• The Bulldogs wrapped up a four-game homestand this past weekend at Ingalls Rink by beating St. Lawrence 6-3 before falling 4-1 to Clarkson
• Bruins draft pick Curtis Hall has scored a team-best five goals, while Billy Sweezey and Jack St. Ivany lead the team with five assists apiece
• Senior goalie Corbin Kaczperski has started six of Yale's eight games with a 1-5-0 record, 4.19 goals against average and .849 save percentage
• The Bulldogs click at 2-28 (7.1%) on the power play and 16-26 (61.5%) on the kill
• Keith Allain is in his 15th year as the head coach with a 256-174-46 record
• Last year, Yale finished at .500 with a record of 15-15-3 (11-10-1 ECAC); the Bulldogs swept RPI in the ECAC First Round before being swept at Clarkson in the quarterfinals

SERIES HISTORY
• The two schools are meeting for the 56th time on Tuesday night with Boston College holding a 43-11-1 edge in the all-time series
• Boston College is riding a five-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) in the series and has gone 10-1-1 against Yale in the last 12 matchups
• The schools haven't met since a 3-3 tie at Kelley Rink on Jan. 4, 2013; Steven Whitney tied the game on the power play with 3:27 left in the third period
• Since it opened in 1988, the Eagles are 2-1-1 in four games with Yale at Conte Forum

• Boston College swept Vermont 5-1 and 3-0 on Nov. 15-16 in a weekend series at Gutterson Fieldhouse
• In the series opener, David Cotton notched his 100th career point and added an assist for his 24th career multi-point game as the senior captain led the team with seven shots
• Rookies Alex Newhook and Mike Hardman each had a goal and an assist and were both plus-2 in the victory, while senior Julius Mattila registered a pair of primary assists
• Spencer Knight posted his third shutout in 11 games on Saturday as BC blanked Vermont 3-0 to sweep the series
• Boston College stretched its unbeaten streak to 11 games (9-0-2) against UVM
• Cotton had a pair of assists to finish the series with four points, while Logan Hutsko's goal in the third period tied his career-high with a seven-game point streak
• Knight made 34 saves on the night, half of which came in the first period

HOME-AND-HOME SWEEP
• Boston College dominated UConn by the combined score of 11-1 on Nov. 8-9 to sweep a home-and-home series
• Alex Newhook collected his first career multi-goal game and Spencer Knight posted a 30-save shutout in a 6-0 Hockey East victory to open the series at Kelley Rink
• Four players put up multi-point efforts in the win, including a career-high three for senior defenseman Connor Moore (1-2-3); Jack McBain had a goal and an assist, while Graham McPhee handed out a pair of assists
• Aapeli Räsänen scored his first career hat trick to lead BC past the Huskies 5-1 the following afternoon at the XL Center as the Eagles swept the home-and-home set
• Räsänen added an assist for a career-high four points, while Ben Finkelstein (1-1-2), Mike Hardman (1-1-2) and Newhook (0-2-2) also registered multi-point performances
• BC peppered Tomas Vomacka in the UConn net with a season-best 46 shots on goal and allowed a season-low 17

OH WHAT A KNIGHT
• In the month of November, Spencer Knight leads the nation in SV% (.970) and GAA (0.83)
• Knight has also led BC to the number one scoring defense in the country in November (0.83 GAA)
• He was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week on Nov. 18 following a 2-0-0 weekend in Vermont
• Overall, the rookie netminder ranks third in Hockey East in SV% (.936) and GAA (1.91) while leading the league in shutouts (3) in just 11 starts between the pipes

HITTING THE CENTURY MARK
• David Cotton became the 81st player in program history to reach 100 career points on Nov. 15 at UVM
• The last Eagle to hit the century mark was Ryan Fitzgerald in 2017 (T-42nd all-time with 132 points)
• The senior captain has played in 127 games at Boston College with 47 goals and 56 assists
• He has five multi-point games this season, including one in each win during the Vermont series
• Since Nov. 2, Cotton leads the nation in shots per game (6.0)
