The volleyball team is set for their final two regular season road trips of the season
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College volleyball team (19-9, 10-5 ACC) hits the road for its final road weekend of the regular season as they travel to take on both Virginia (11-18, 3-13 ACC) and Syracuse (10-13, 7-9 ACC). Both matches will be featured on the ACC Network Extra.

BC is coming off of its first road trip of the month as the team traveled south to Winston-Salem, N.C., to face Wake Forest for the second time this season. The Eagles earned the season sweep over the Demon Deacons with a five-set win, led by Jewel Strawberry's 12 kills. The win marked head coach Jason Kennedy's first season sweep over an ACC opponent, as the Eagles have already doubled last season's conference win total (five in 2018) with three games still remaining in the regular season. It also marked the Eagles' 19th win of the season: just one shy of matching their all-time best output, which was 20 wins in 2004 (the programs' final year in the Big East).
Â
The Cavaliers sit at 14th in the conference with a 3-13 record, looking to snap a three-match losing streak. The teams met earlier in the season, with BC coming out on top in a three-set sweep to push the Eagles to their first-ever 5-0 start to conference play. The win marked the first conference sweep for BC of the 2019 season as Amaka Chukwujekwu, Cat Balido and Jewel Strawberry paced the offense while Chukwujekwu balanced with four blocks.Â
Â
The Orange took the win in the first meeting of the season as the teams traded set wins before Syracuse forced a fifth set and won, 15-8. Clare Naughton added a career-best 20 kills and Cat Balido put up 13, but the Eagles couldn't halt Syracuse's Polina Shemanova, who currently ranks at fifth in the nation in kills. The sophomore added 32 in the effort in Chestnut Hill.Â

The Eagles will meet Virginia on Friday at 6:30 PM in Charlottesville before Sunday's 1:00 matchup with the Orange in Syracuse.
