Eagles Complete First Meet of NFC Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Boston College fencing team picked up 12 wins today at the first Northeast Fencing Conference meet of the year. The men defeated New Hampshire (26-1), UMass (26-1), Sacred Heart (23-4), Boston University (26-1), and Brown (14-13) while the women picked up wins over New Hampshire (24-3), Wellesley (14-13), UMass (21-6), Brown (16-11), Sacred Heart (24-3), Smith College (23-4) and Boston University (18-9).

MEN'S RESULTS
-The sabre squad had a strong showing, going 41-4 overall on the day, with wins over all five opponents.
-The foil squad also topped all five opponents, going 37-8 in the competition
-The epee squad posted a 37-8 record on the day, only falling to Ivy League foe Brown

-The epee squad was 48-15 on the day, dropping a pair of close 4-5 contests to UMass and Boston University
-The foil squad racked up over 50 victories and finished 51-12, on the day falling 4-5 to Brown and 3-6 to Wellesley
