CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's basketball team fell to No. 9 NC State, 85-69, on Sunday afternoon in the second ACC game of the season.

Junior forward Emma Guy and freshman Makayla Dickens led the Eagles with 17 points. Guy shot 8-for-11 from the floor and grabbed seven boards, while Dickens went 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and grabbed 10 rebounds. Freshman Marnelle Garraud pitched in with 13 points.

Trailing by five late in the first period, the Eagles took advantage of a Wolfpack turnover to cut the deficit to one possession. Junior forward Georgia Pineau knocked down an inside jumper, but NC State ended the first quarter with a 14-0 run.

Sophomore Sydney Lowery and junior guard Taylor Ortlepp (8 points, 6 assists) began the second quarter with back-to-back lay-ups, the Eagles were unable to quiet a potent Wolfpack offense. NC State went on a 6-0 run to build a 16-point lead and did not look back.

1st Quarter – Trailing by five with 3:24 left in the first period, junior forward Georgia Pineau brought the Eagles back to within one possession with an inside jumper off an NC State turnover. However, the Wolfpack went on a 3:24 run to end the first quarter with the 21-7 lead.

2nd Quarter – Sophomore Sydney Lowery and junior Taylor Ortlepp opened the second quarter with back to back lay-ups in the paint, but NC State went on a 6-0 run to build a 16-point lead. NC State held a 41-24 lead at the break.

3rd Quarter – Despite trailing at the half, junior Emma Guy was nearly perfect in the third quarter, shooting four-of-five for nine of 17 points.

4th Quarter – Guy sparked a five-minute, 13-5 run to conclude the contest with a hook shot in front of the rim. Â
