The senior earns his first nod to the All-ACC Academic Team
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College senior forward Simon Enstrom was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's Men's Soccer All-ACC Academic Team, as announced Thursday by the league. Enstrom was one of 38 conference players named to the team.
In 2018, Enstrom led the Eagles with 19 points this season, scoring nine goals while assisting on another. Four of the captain's goals were game-winning scores, tied for second in the conference, and he also led the team and finished second in the ACC with 49 shots. Enstrom finished his BC career with 75 points on 31 goals and 13 assists, good for fifth all-time in program history. His 31 goals place him tied for second in program history. Enstrom finished his career with sixth multi-goal games and 10 multi-point outings.
The communications and economics major also earned Second Team All-ACC honors on the field following his final season on the Heights. On Sept. 10, Enstrom was named the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week after playing a part in all three goals in BC's 3-2 win over Clemson.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
This is Enstrom's first nod to the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
