Boston College, Syracuse begin their regular season series at Conte Forum
BOSTON COLLEGE VS. SYRACUSE - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Today's game marks the 74th meeting between the two schools.
- Boston College is 26-47 all-time vs. Syracuse.
- The Eagles are 14-18 all-time at home versus Syracuse and have won the last two matchups in Chestnut Hill.
- Syracuse is BC's fifth-most common opponent.
- From 1979-2005, both teams were members of the Big East.
- BC was 17-34 against Syracuse in Big East play.
- In ACC play, the Eagles are 3-7 versus the Orange.

BOSTON COLLEGE IN ACC PLAY
- Boston College is 79-147 in 13 seasons in the ACC.

- Ky Bowman is the only player in the country averaging at least: 20.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. Â
- It is the most well-rounded stat line in 26 years of Division I basketball.
- In 1992-93, Penny Hardaway of Memphis posted at least that stat line (21.0 ppg/8.5 rpg/6.4 apg/2.5 spg/1.2 bpg).
- Bowman is the only player nationally at 6-1 or shorter to average 7.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.
- Last year, Bowman was the only player in the country to average at least 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.
- Since the 1990-91 season, only 10 players have registered at least those season averages.
- One of those players was National Player of the Year - Denzel Valentine of Michigan State in 2016.
- Three were top three NBA Draft picks: Ben Simmons, LSU (#1, 2016); Evan Turner, Ohio State (#2, 2010); and Hardaway, Memphis (#3, 1993).
- Five were first round NBA Draft picks: Simmons; Turner; Hardaway; Valentine (#14, 2016); Bob Sura, FSU (#17, 1995).

ACC EXCLUSIVE & EAGLES AMONG THE LEAGUE LEADERS
- Ky Bowman is one of two players in the ACC to rank among the top five in scoring (3rd, 20.5) and rebounding (5th, 8.1). Â

- Three Eagles rank among the top 10 in FT% in the ACC: Wynston Tabbs is first (47-56, 83.9%), Jordan Chatman seventh (45-56, 80.4%), and Ky Bowman ninth (78-98, 79.6%).
- Nik Popovic is one of six ACC players to rank among the top 25 in the league in scoring and rebounding, and among the top 10 in FG percentage. The others: Williamson, John Mooney (Notre Dame), Cameron Johnson (UNC), Torin Dorn (NC State), and Jordan Nwora (Louisville).
- BC is the only ACC team with three players averaging 7.0 rebounds per game (Bowman/Mitchell/Popovic).
BOSTON COLLEGE EXCLUSIVE
- Ky Bowman is one of two players in BC history to accumulate 1,400 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, and 100 steals.
- The other is Jared Dudley, who from 2003-07, tallied 2,071 points, 936 boards, 395 assists, and 176 steals in his four year career.
- Both players reached those career statistical totals as juniors. Dudley was at 1500/688/305/134 at the conclusion of his third year.
- Bowman is one of only 18 players in ACC history to reach those career totals.
JORDAN CHATMAN SCORES 1,000TH COLLEGIATE POINT; NEEDS 87 TO REACH 1K AT BOSTON COLLEGE
- Jordan Chatman reached the 1,000 point mark for his collegiate career on Jan. 26 at Wake Forest.
- Chatman reached the milestone through 115 total games between BYU and Boston College from 2015-present.
- The senior guard has scored 913 points in 81 games at Boston College, from 2016-present.
- He is 87 points away from becoming the 44th BC player to score 1,000 points - an average of 7.3 ppg through the regular season.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE, ANIMAL STYLE
- Ky Bowman and Nik Popovic have each tallied six double-doubles in points and rebounds this season.
- Their combined 12 double-doubles are the most by a pair of BC teammates in a single-season since 2006-07.
- In 2006-07, Jared Dudley (10) and Sean Williams (4) combined for a total of 14 double-doubles.
- In 2005-06, Dudley (4) and Craig Smith (15) had 19 double-doubles. In 2004-05, Dudley (7) and Smith (8) combined for 15.

- On Jan. 26 at Wake Forest, Steffon Mitchell became the 15th BC player to dish out at least seven assists with zero turnovers.
- The sophomore forward tied his career-high with seven assists in just over 27 minutes of play.
- It was the second time that Mitchell had seven assists and zero turnovers in a game. The last was at Miami on Feb. 24, 2018.
- Jared Dudley, Troy Bell, and Howard Eisley are the only other BC players with 7/0 in at least two games. Eisley did it three times.
BOSTON COLLEGE MAKING A 3-POINT TURN
- Boston College had its best 3-point shooting performance on Jan. 20 against Florida State, making 13-of-21 - good for 61.9%.
- The 13 makes were the most this season and highest single-game total since Feb. 28, 2018 vs. Syracuse (14 3FG made).
- The 61.9% 3-point proficiency is the highest in a single-game since Jan. 5, 2010: 69.2% (9-for-13) vs. NJIT.
- Individually, Ky Bowman is shooting better than 6.0% higher from beyond the arc during conference play.
- Versus Florida State, Bowman made his first five 3-point attempts and finished 6-of-8 from the outside.
- Bowman is connecting on 40.5% (17-42) from 3-point land in ACC games. He was at 34.2% (26-76) during non-conference play.
- Jordan Chatman is red-hot from the outside in his last three games, making 16-of-25 shots from the outside - a 64.0% clip.
- In his first 12 games played, Chatman connected on just 16-of-62 (25.8) and was 2-of-19 in the four games prior to FSU.
- Boston College is 7-2 all-time when Jordan Chatman makes five or more 3-pointers.

- Ky Bowman ranks tied for third in the ACC in defensive rebounding, with 127. Jordan Nwora (LOU) also has 127.
- John Mooney (ND) is first, with 164, followed by Luke Maye (UNC) with 143.
- The average height of players in the top 10 in the ACC in defensive rebounding is 6-7.5.
- Bowman's 34 defensive rebounds tallied in games from Jan. 12-20 ranked second nationally, behind John Mooney's (ND) 39.
- Ky Bowman's 16 defensive rebounds at Notre Dame on Jan. 12 were the most by a Boston College player in program history.
- His 16 defensive rebounds at Notre Dame tie for the second-most in a single 40 minute game this season.
- Since 1996-97, only two other players 6-1 or shorter have grabbed 16 defensive rebounds in a 40 minute game: Norris Cole of Cleveland State (vs. Youngstown State, Feb. 12, 2011) and Rajon Rondo of Kentucky (vs. Iowa, Nov. 21, 2005).
- If his season averages hold up, Bowman would be the first BC player since Danya Abrams to average at least 20 points and eight rebounds per game. Abrams registered 22.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 1994-95.
STEFFON MITCHELL STILL STUFFING STAT SHEETS AS A SOPHOMORE
- Steffon Mitchell has led Boston College in at least one statistical category in 11 of the 14 games in which he has appeared.
- Last time out at Wake Forest, Mitchell led BC in assists for the third time this season, with a career-high seven.
- On Jan. 20 vs. Florida State, Mitchell led BC in assists (4), blocks (3), and steals (2), while also grabbing eight boards.
- The sophomore has led the team in rebounding six times, including a season-high 14 boards vs. Milwaukee on Nov. 6.
- Boston College is 5-1 this season - and 14-10 over the past two years - when Mitchell is the team's top rebounder.
- He has led BC in blocked shots seven times so far in 2018-19 - including consecutive games with a career-high three swats.
- He has led the Eagles in steals on five occasions, including a career-best five swipes vs. Providence on Dec. 4.
- Last year, Mitchell led BC in at least one stat category - scoring, rebounding, assists, blocks, or steals - in 31 of 34 games
- Mitchell has four double-doubles so far in 2018-19 and six for his career.
