Eagles Grab No. 1 Spot in IWLCA Poll

2018 runners-up, the No. 1 Eagles have made a statement in preseason polls
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (IWLCA.com) -- The Boston College women's lacrosse team has been tabbed as the No. 1 team in the 2019 Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the IWLCA Monday. The Eagles claimed 22 of 25 possible first-place votes, as reigning champion James Madison took in two votes and North Carolina found one. Seven of the eight Atlantic Coast Conference teams debuted in the initial poll.Â
Boston College welcomes back reigning Tewaaraton winner Sam Apuzzo as well as four additional Preseason All-Americans in Kenzie Kent, Dempsey Arsenault, Elizabeth Miller and Hannah Hyatt, joining forces with the seven freshmen that were named the No. 1 Recruiting Class by Inside Lacrosse. The Eagles were also ranked as No. 1 in both the US Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse preseason polls.Â
The Eagles begin their 2019 campaign on Feb. 9 with a noon matchup hosting cross-town rival Boston University.
