ACC Play Opens Up as Georgia Tech Comes To Conte

Atlantic Coast Conference play will begin on Thursday as the Boston College women's basketball team will host Georgia Tech (10-3) on Thursday at Conte Forum (7 p.m.). This will be the Eagles' first ACC game under the direction of new head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee.

The Eagles are currently 11-2 with a deciding 99-68 victory over Dartmouth on Dec. 29. BC had six players score in double-figures while Emma Guy led with 23 points.

BC vs. Georgia Tech
- In the overall series, BC is 5-12 against Georgia Tech.
- The first meeting between Boston College and Georgia Tech took place on Dec. 28, 1991 with the Eagles losing, 97-61, at a neutral sight.
- Last year Georgia Tech defeated BC, 67-43, in Atlanta.
- Boston College's first win over Georgia Tech came at home on Feb. 9 2006 (57-55).
- The last time BC defeated the Yellow Jackets, was on March 3, 2013 (74-68).
- BC and Georgia Tech have both played at Houston this season. BC defeated Houston, 64-57, on Nov. 18. Georgia Tech lost in double overtime to the Cougars, 95-89, in the season opener.

- Boston College is currently fifth in the nation and first in the ACC in offensive rebounding (18.0 rpg.). Three players – Emma Guy, Georgia Pineau and Marnelle Garraud – have 30 or more offensive boards.

- Junior Emma Guy is third in the ACC in field goal percentage (63.7) and is 10th in the country. She is also ninth in the ACC in field goals made and 14th in rebounds and rebounds per game (7.6 rpg.).
- Guy is shooting 76.7 percent and averaging 18.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in the last three games.
- Freshman Marnelle Garraud is second in the ACC in free throw percentage (89.7%). She has hit 35-of-39 free throws this season. She is 17th in the nation in free throw percentage.
- Junior Taylor Ortlepp is fifth overall in the ACC in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1) and 65th in the country. In the last five games, Ortlepp is averaging 16.6 points, 2.1 steals and shooting 47.1 percent from long range.
