CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team begins the spring season this weekend with a pair of home matches against Ivy League schools Dartmouth and Brown. The Big Green travels to Boston on Saturday (Jan. 19) for a 1 p.m. match, while the Bears make the trip to BC on Monday (Jan. 21) for a 11 a.m. start on Martin Luther King Day.

FALL RECAP
The Eagles' 2018 fall season was highlighted by doubles team Kylie Wilcox and Jackie Urbinati, who advanced to the quarterfinals at the ITA Regional Championships hosted by Yale. Five of the Eagles' six singles players also registered a victory at the event in October.
Â
Earlier in October, the top doubles duo came one win away from reaching the main draw of the ITA Women's All-American Championships at Riviera Tennis Club in California. In early November, sophomores Loren Haukova and Reagan Posorske won all three of their doubles matches at the Brown Fall Classic against Brown, Columbia, and Pittsburgh at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
BC closed the fall campaign at the Tiger Classic hosted by LSU. Natasha Irani and Iowa transfer Yufei Long each collected singles victories during Day 2 action over LSU players, while Irani added another victory on Day 3. Marion Conklin earned the Eagles' lone singles victory on Day 1, defeating Southern Methodist's Katherine Jakeway.

ANOTHER WILCOX
Hailey Wilcox, the younger sister of current Eagles junior Kylie Wilcox, signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) in November to play her collegiate tennis at Boston College.
Â
"We are absolutely thrilled that Hailey will be joining our team next fall," said head coach Nigel Bentley.  "She is very familiar with our team as her older sister Kylie has been a big part of our success the past three years.  Hailey has a wealth of experience and she is a very talented player.  She also brings a charming and delightful personality that will benefit the whole BC community. This is a great day for our tennis program and Boston College."
Â
A five-star recruit, Wilcox has ranked as high as No. 32 in the country on the National Tennis RPI during her junior career. This season, she has compiled a 13-10 overall record on the ITF professional tour while attending Laurel Springs School with a 4.2 GPA. Wilcox was the winner of the 2017 Florida State Championship and won a national doubles championship with her sister Kylie in 2015.
Â
UP NEXT
Boston College will compete in three home matches next weekend, including a doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 26 against Bryant (10 a.m.) and Marist (3:30 p.m.). On Sunday, Jan. 27, the Eagles face another Ivy League opponent Yale at 2 p.m.
