Pittsburgh Up Next For Eagles

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Boston College women's basketball team will head to Pittsburgh in pursuit of its second ACC win. The Eagles will play the Panthers (9-7, 0-2 ACC) Sunday at the Petersen Events Center (1 p.m.). The game will air on NESN and the ACC Network Extra.

The Eagles picked up their first ACC win of the season on Thursday night in a 65-64 victory over Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. Freshman Makayla Dickens had 11 points and 16 rebounds, including an offensive board in the final seconds to seal the victory. Junior Taylor Ortlepp finished with 19 points, while sophomore Milan Bolden-Morris pitched in with 13 points.

This was BC head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee's first ACC victory.

BC vs. PITTSBURGH
- Pittsburgh (9-7, 0-2) is coming off a 63-34 loss at NC State on Thursday.
- Head Coach Lance White is in his first season at Pittsburgh. White was at Florida State as an assistant for nine seasons, then promoted to associate head coach in 2012-13.
- The BC/Pitt series dates back to 1983, when the teams first met at Boston College. BC lost the game on Jan. 31, 70-62.
- BC leads the overall series, 27-18.
- BC's first win vs. Pittsburgh (9-6, 0-1) took place on Jan. 8, 1986 (69-57). Former BC small forward Marie Grant had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
- Since Pitt joined the ACC, the Panthers are 3-2 against the Eagles.
- Last year BC defeated Pittsburgh, 72-61, behind 23 points from Georgia Pineau. Milan Bolden-Morris chipped in with 15 points.

- Boston College averages 43.2 rebounds a game, which is 10^th in the country and fourth in the ACC. BC is sixth in the country in offensive rebounds per game (18.0 rpg.).
- In the win against Wake Forest, BC became the first team to win the battle of the boards against the Deacs. In 16 games Boston College has won the rebound battle in 12 games, including two out of three ACC games.
- Boston College had 18 assists on 26 field goals in the win over Wake Forest on Thursday night. The Eagles average 17.4 assists per game, which is third in the ACC and 16^th in the country.
- Freshman Makayla Dickens has scored in double-digits in six of the last seven games. The first-year guard is averaging 14.3 points and 9.7 rebounds a game in ACC play.
- BC leads the ACC in offensive rebounds and is sixth in the country (18.0 rpg.). The Eagles are 34^th overall in rebound margin in the country and sixth in the ACC (+8.1).
- Junior Taylor Ortlepp had 19 points in the win over Wake Forest. She now has 704 career points. She hit five three-pointers in the game and is just three from tying Kristin Doherty '14 (130) in 10^th overall on the all-time list.

- This year the Play4Kay Initiative game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. It is also scheduled to be the annual Alumni Game. HISTORY LESSON
- Former guard Sarah Behn, who is the all-time leader in points scored (2,523), scored a program-high 39 points against Georgetown on Jan. 13, 1993. Behn hit a program-high 17 free throws in the game against the Hoyas.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will return to Boston and host No. 22/23 Florida State on Thursday at 7. It will be the third ranked team BC will meet this season.
