Senior pitcher Sean Hughes details a summer playing ball in Alaska
The Alaska Baseball League has hosted top amateur talent from the college ranks for wood-bat summer leagues for several decades. The league's tradition is as full and rich as the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League on the East Coast; boasting names like Seaver, Bonds, McGwire and Winfield. This summer, Boston College pitcher Sean Hughes made the journey to The Last Frontier to prepare for his senior season as a reliever for the Mat-Su Miners.
