Boston College will host Albany on Thursday at the Newton Soccer Field at 5 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday but due to inclement weather in the area the game was moved to Thursday. Fans remember admission is free to the match and all of BC's regular season home games.
BC is 2-0 on the season after the opening weekend for women's college soccer. The Eagles defeated Quinnipiac to open the season on Friday night (4-2). Olivia Vaughn and Gaby Carreiro tallied two goals apiece in the win.
On Sunday, BC defeated Northeastern, 1-0, on the road. Sophomore Gianna Mitchell scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute off a corner kick. Graduate goalkeeper Alexis Bryant picked up the shutout as she had three saves, two huge stops in the final nine minutes of action to preserve the win.

- Albany and Boston College have never played.
- Both teams will play two common opponents – Northeastern & Stony Brook.
- Albany is now 2-0 with a successful weekend in Arizona. The Great Danes defeated Arizona, 1-0, on Friday, Aug. 17 followed by a 3-1 win over New Mexico State on Sunday.

- Forward Gaby Carreiro was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for her play over the weekend. Carreiro, who missed 2017 with an injury, scored two goals and tallied an assist in the 4-2 win over Quinnipiac. Carreiro played 84 minutes against Quinnipiac on Friday and 84 more in the 1-0 win over Northeastern on Sunday.
