Frei, Cook Named To 2018 All-ACC Academic Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass - Â Senior Allyson Frei and freshman CC Cook were named to the All-ACC Academic Softball team as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on this morning.
Frei, a native of Branchville, N.J., missed her junior year with a season ending injury only to return in 2018 and post a 2.53 ERA and play in 36 games, 22 starts and picked up 11 wins. She pitched 142 innings and had 153 strikeouts. Â She pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts in a 1-0 win over Florida State this past season.

Cook, a native of Phoenix, Ariz., finished her rookie campaign with 40 hits, 25 RBI and a .288 batting average. Cook played in 48 games and had 10 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.Â
