Brighton, Mass. - The Boston College softball team (13-32, 3-15 ACC) defeated Bryant in a 8-0 midweek matchup at Harrington Athletics Village.

The Eagles wasted no time, plating three runs in the opening inning. Sammy Horn sparked the offense with a bunt single before Emma Knight and Abby Ptak reached to load the bases. Janis Espinoza then delivered a two-run double to left field to give BC an early advantage.

Boston College kept the pressure on in the second as the top of the lineup came through again. Horn and Ptak each doubled in the frame, while Horn and Knight both crossed the plate to stretch the lead to 5-0.

Halie Pappion held the Bulldogs through the first three innings with four strikeouts while only allowing one hit. Kelly Colleran would come in at the top of the fourth in relief, tossing three strikeouts of her own to finish out the final two innings.

Nicole Riddell opened the bottom of the third with a solo homer over the left field fence. Horn scored from first base off a single from Knight in center field thanks to a Bulldog throwing error.

The Eagles capped off the game with a walk off hit to the outfield from Adriana Martinez, ending the game in five innings 8-0.
