Scouting the Opponent:
- The Eagles participate in their final regular season ACC series of the 2018 campaign when they host Georgia Tech at the Harrington Athletics Village at Brighton Fields.
- BC has a 9-30 all-time record versus the Yellow Jackets. The Eagles have won the last five meetings between the teams, including a series sweep in 2016.
- The Maroon and Gold have outscored Georgia Tech 27-7 in those last five meetings, including two shutouts.
- Historically, the Eagles are 3-12 when they play the Yellow Jackets at home.
- The last time BC defeated Georgia Tech was in 2016 when it won by a score of 9-0 in five innings. The last time the Eagles defeated the Yellow Jackets at home was in 2015 when BC won by a score of 5-2.
- BC has run-ruled Georgia Tech once and it has been run-ruled six times.
- Heading into the weekend, Georgia Tech is 12-9 in the coastal conference of the ACC standings.
- In ACC play, the Yellow Jackets swept Virginia, took two from NC State, were swept by Florida State, took two from Duke, one from Pittsburgh, won the series against North Carolina and Virginia Tech. They have won five ACC series in total this season.
- Georgia Tech has won three of its last five contests.
- Katie Krzus leads the Yellow Jackets with a .297 batting average and 32 RBIs.
- Cameron Stanford leads Georgia Tech in ACC play with a .344 batting average and 21 hits.
- Emily Anderson leads the pitching staff with a 2.05 ERA and 19 wins on the season.

The Pitching Staff:
- Senior Jessica Dreswick continues her work-horse ways into the 2018 season. As of April 29, she is tied for fourth in the ACC in games started with 29. She is fourth in innings pitched (183.2), tied for third in appearances (39) and fifth in complete games with 15. The right-hander is also eighth in opponent batting average (.223).
- Dreswick is sixth in the ACC with 162 strikeouts. She is also tied for fifth in strikeouts looking (37).
- In BC's game vs. Texas State on Feb. 12, Dreswick threw a career-high 11 strikeouts - a feat she matched when she struck out 11 batters again versus CCSU on Feb. 25. With 10 K's recorded in the win over No. 18 Ole Miss and in the 4-1 victory over UConn, Dreswick has thrown double digits in strikeouts in four games so far this season.
- On March 23 vs. Virginia, Dreswick threw five perfect innings as BC run-ruled the Cavaliers, 8-0. The perfect game is believed to be the first in ACC program history.
- In the BC record books, Dreswick has the most games started of any pitcher in BC history with 104 starts. On her 100th career start versus UMass on April 18, Dreswick tied the all-time program win record at BC with her 55th victory as an Eagle. On April 24 against Harvard, Dreswick became the winningest pitcher in BC history with her 56th career W.
- Redshirt junior Allyson Frei threw a total of 405 pitches over 24.1 innings pitched against FIU in the FIU Classic. As of April 29, she has posted a 2.23 ERA which is good for ninth in the conference.
- Frei led the Eagles to a 1-0 victory over top-ranked Florida State on April 13, becoming the first ACC pitcher to shut-out the Seminoles. Her performance won her ACC Co-Player of the Week Honors on April 17 - the second time in her career that Frei has received the honor.
- As of April 24, the Boston College pitching staff is ranked 43rd in the nation with a 2.36 ERA and third in the ACC.
- Entering the final week of regular season play, senior Chloe Sharabba leads the team with 37 runs scored. She has 52 hits, including 12 doubles and six home runs. She has also picked up 21 RBIs and drawn a team leading 28 walks, resulting in a .444 on base percentage and a .558 slugging percentage.
- Sharabba started the 2018 season on a 16-game hitting streak, dating back to last season.
- Sharabba is 13th in the ACC with a .345 batting average. She is 11th in slugging percentage (.574) and eighth in on base percentage (.450).
- Senior Annie Murphy has been a stand-out player in ACC play as she leads the ACC with a .484 batting average. She is tied for first in the conference in hits in ACC play with 29, RBIs with 31 and is second in on base percentage (.554). She is also seventh in slugging percentage in ACC play at .625.
- Â Murphy's strong performance against Notre Dame led to her earning ACC Co-Player of the Week honors on April 24. The outfielder has reached base safely in the last 25 games
- The Boston College softball team's historic win streak ended at 13 games with a loss to Florida State on April 13, besting the previous record of 10 which was set in 1995. The winning streak began against Virginia on March 23.
- During the winning streak, BC recorded a .296 team batting average and scored 85 runs, while run-ruling its opponent four times. The Eagles scored a season-high 16 runs in the victory over the Friars. In game two versus Syracuse, BC hit two home runs in one inning for the first time all season. The team collected 97 hits, including six home runs. BC also drew 62 walks during the streak, posting a .423 team on base percentage. Dreswick and Frei had a combined 1.47 ERA during the streak and allowed just 18 earned runs.
- BC began the season with an RPI of 132. As of April 24, the Maroon and Gold have an RPI of 53.
- The Eagles finished the month of April with an 11-6 record. BC finished out its non-conference schedule with eight straight wins.
More Reason's to Come Out this Weekend:
- On Saturday, the BC softball team will be hosting its second annual Back the Blue Game to honor field members of local police forces from the Boston area. Tatiana Cortez '17, a standout player for the team during her fours years at BC, will be in attendance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch in honor of her father, who is a police officer in Houston, Texas who was wounded in the line of duty.
- On Sunday, BC's four seniors - Jordan Chimento, Jessica Dreswick, Annie Murphy and Chloe Sharabba - will be recognized for their commitment to the softball program over the last four years.
