Varsity eight wins Irving-Christensen Cup
WORCESTER, Mass. – The Boston College rowing team won all five events against Connecticut and Holy Cross on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

BC finished first in the varsity eight with a time of 6:48.4, winning the Irving-Christensen Cup, awarded annually to the winner of the varsity eight among the three teams. UConn was second and Holy Cross finished third.

The Eagles won the second varsity eight race with a time of 6:59.8. The Huskies finished eight seconds behind and the Crusaders finished 31 second after BC.Â

The varsity four earned a first-place finish with a time of 7:33.9, well ahead of UConn and Holy Cross. The second varsity four won its race with a time of 7:57.2 against two Connecticut boats.

The third varsity eight race was the last one of the day and BC completed the sweep in a time of 7:07.3.
