Eagles Win Skyhawk Invitational

C had five first place finishes on the day
NORTH EASTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's track and field team competed at the Skyhawk Invitational in North Easton, Mass. at Stonehill College on Saturday, April 28. The Eagles won the meet with 167 points, besting second-place Rhode Island who finished with 136.50 points.

Standout performances included a first place finish in the 400 meter dash by Johanna Celli, a second place finish in the 800 meter run by senior Molly McCabe and a first place finish in the long jump by Julia Lyons.

BC will race in its sixth meet of the outdoor season when it travels to Miami, Fla. to compete in the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday – Saturday, May 10 -12.

 BC Highlights:
- Freshman Anne Leahy took 13th place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.82.
- Sophomore Monice Heil took 10th place in the 200 meter dash, crossing the line in 26.20.
- Celli won the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.38. Heil was close behind in third place at 57.09. Sophomore Emma Taylor finished the race in 1:00.37 for a 12th place finish.
- McCabe earned a second place finish in the 800 meter run, crossing the line in 2:07.40. Junior Paige Duca was right behind in third place at 2:09.19. Junior Gianna Bender and senior Shannon Ahern took fifth and sixth respectively, at 2:12.25 and 2:13.23.
- Senior Laura Leff earned a second place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:36.57. Classmate Julia Gregory also finished in the top 10 with a sixth place finish at 4:40.67.
- BC swept places one through five in the 3000 meter run as freshmen Lauren White and Anne Flynn took first and second, respectively, juniors Delia Hayes and Sarah Marvin finished in third and fourth and senior Clarissa Modde finished in fifth place. White won the race with a time of 10:11.56 and Flynn finished in 10:14.67.
- Sophomore Chloe Hautiere won the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:54.91.
- Senior Julia Barron finished in third place in the 100 meter hurdles, crossing the line in 14.75.
- Barron won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.12. Freshman Jessica Creedon was close behind in third place at 1:04.46.
- The women's 4x100 meter relay team of Heil, Lyons, Tyalor and Celli earned a third place finish with a time of 47.97.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of Barron, junior Sierra Tonnesen, Taylor and Heil took second place, crossing the line in 4:00.07.
- Sophomore Abigail Gothers took sixth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.55 meters.
- Lyons won first place in the long jump with a jump of 5.87 meters.
- Sophomore Amanda Sinkewicz earned a second place finish in the javelin throw with a throw of 38.82 meters.
