Eagles To Play Pitt In First Round of ACC Championships

The Boston College women's tennis team finished the season as the 10th ranked team in the ACC. The Eagles will play No. 15 Pittsburgh on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Cary Tennis ark in Cary, North Carolina.
Boston College, which finished the regular season with a home victory over Wake Forest on Friday (4-3), went 13-10 overall and 5-9 in the ACC this past season.
The winner of the Eagles/Panthers match on Wednesday will play No. 7 Syracuse on Thursday at 11 a.m.
Last season, the 12th seeded Eagles defeated No. 13 Virginia Tech (4-3) and No. 5 NC State (4-1) before losing to No. 4 seeded Miami (4-0) in the quarterfinals.
The Eagles last played Pittsburgh on April 1 and came away with a 5-2 victory. BC's Asiya Dair on in straight sets at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3 over Gabriela Rezende. Kylie Wilcox also picked up a straight set victory at No. 2 over Camila Moreno while Natasha Irani won in a tiebreaker over Luisa Varon in the No. 3 spot. BC then took two of the three doubles matches.
The ACC Tennis Championships will have live coverage on ACC Network Extra from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the tournament's final two days (April 28-29).
