Eagles To Play Pitt In First Round of ACC Championships

The Boston College women's tennis team finished the season as the 10^th ranked team in the ACC. The Eagles will play No. 15 Pittsburgh on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Cary Tennis ark in Cary, North Carolina.

Boston College, which finished the regular season with a home victory over Wake Forest on Friday (4-3), went 13-10 overall and 5-9 in the ACC this past season.

The winner of the Eagles/Panthers match on Wednesday will play No. 7 Syracuse on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Last season, the 12^th seeded Eagles defeated No. 13 Virginia Tech (4-3) and No. 5 NC State (4-1) before losing to No. 4 seeded Miami (4-0) in the quarterfinals.

The Eagles last played Pittsburgh on April 1 and came away with a 5-2 victory. BC's Asiya Dair on in straight sets at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-3 over Gabriela Rezende. Kylie Wilcox also picked up a straight set victory at No. 2 over Camila Moreno while Natasha Irani won in a tiebreaker over Luisa Varon in the No. 3 spot. BC then took two of the three doubles matches.

The ACC Tennis Championships will have live coverage on ACC Network Extra from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the tournament's final two days (April 28-29).
