PAST HISTORY
- The Eagles continue their tour of the South when they participate in the 2018 Easton Crimson Classic hosted by Alabama.
- BC will play two games against Samford, two games versus Alabama and conclude the weekend with a match up game against Fordham.
- For the first time under seventh-year head coach Ashley Obrest and for the first time in program history, BC will take on the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide.
- BC has played Fordham twice in program history and won both meetings. The Eagles last played the Rams in 2016 and won the first game, 9-0, in five innings followed by a 5-4 victory.
- Samford has started off the 2018 campaign with a 5-15 record. The Bulldogs finished the 2017 season with a 25-36 overall record.
- As of March 6, Alabama is ranked 13 according to the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll. The Crimson Tide is off to a 12-5 start and is coming off an NCAA Super Regional appearance in the 2017 season.
- Fordham is off to a 4-11 start during the 2018 campaign. The Rams ended 2017 with a 46-17 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Salt Lake City Regional.
WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE EAGLES
- Senior Jessica Dreswick continues her work-horse ways into the 2018 season. As of March 8, she is tied for seventh in the ACC in appearances (13), tied for fourth in games started (10) and fifth in complete games (5). The right-hander is also sixth in the league in innings pitched (64.0).
- Dreswick is fourth in the ACC with 75 strikeouts. She is also sixth in strikeouts looking (19). In BC's game vs. Texas State on Feb. 12, Dreswick threw a career-high 11 strikeouts - a feat she matched when she struck out 11 batters again versus CCSU on Feb. 25. With 10 K's thrown in the win over No. 18 Ole Miss, Dreswick has recorded double digits in strikeouts in three games so far this season.
- Entering the fifth week of the season, senior Chloe Sharabba leads the team with 12 runs and she is second with 18 hits, including four doubles and two home runs. She has also picked up three RBIs and drawn seven walks, resulting in a .417 on base percentage.
- Sharabba started the 2018 season on a 16-game hitting streak, dating back to last season. The senior has collected a hit in 13 of the 16 games so far this season and has reached base safely in 14 games.
- Sharabba is fifth in the ACC with a .396 batting average and is tied for fifth in the league with 15 runs scored. She is also 11th in slugging percentage (.604) and fourth in on base percentage (.482).
- Redshirt junior Allyson Frei threw a total of 405 pitches over 24.1 innings pitched against FIU in the FIU Classic. She leads the team with a 1.87 ERA.
