Duca Races One Mile Run at NCAA Championship

The junior crossed the line in 4:46.49
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Boston College track and field athlete junior Paige Duca competed in the one mile run at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships yesterday. In her first ever NCAA appearance, Duca finished in 15th place with a time of 4:46.49 for second team All-America honors.
Duca is the first women to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet since Liv Westphal qualified for the 5K in 2016. The junior is the first BC student-athlete to qualify for the mile since school record holder Jillian King qualified in 2014.
The junior concludes the indoor season in fourth place in the BC record books in the one mile run. She ran her fastest time of the 2017-18 campaign at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Feb. 9 at the Track and Tennis Center at Boston University when she crossed the line in 4:37.55.
Duca will return to the track to compete in the upcoming outdoor season.
