Select members competed in their first outdoor meet of the
STANFORD, Calif. – Select members of the Boston College women's track and field team opened its outdoor season at the Stanford Invitational on Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31.

Junior Paige Duca continued her strong performance from the indoor season by opening her outdoor campaign with a sixth place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:18.04. Senior Laura Leff had a strong showing in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing the race in fifth place and crossing the line in 10:34.24.

BC will race in its second meet of the outdoor season when it travels to Williamsburg, Va. to participate in the Colonial Relays at William and Mary beginning on Friday, April 6.

BC Highlights:
- Duca finished in sixth place overall in the 1500 meter run invitational with a time of 4:18.04 to qualify for the IC4A/ECAC Championships.
- Senior Julia Barron took 18th place in the 400 meter hurdles out of 34 runners, crossing the line in 62.88 to earn an IC4A/ECAC qualifying time. Sophomore Emma Taylor also competed in the event, running 62.02.
- Leff took fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 10:34.24, another IC4A/ECAC qualifying time.
- In the field events, sophomore Julia Lyons jumped 5.69 meters in the long jump to finish in ninth place overall.
