Duca Earns Bronze in One Mile Run at ACCs

The junior crossed the line in 4:44.34 for the top BC finish at the meet
CLEMSON, S.C. – After the third and final day of competition, the Boston College women's track and team field team finished in 15 place in the indoor ACC Championships in Clemson, S.C. at the Tiger's Indoor Track & Field Complex.

BC finished the meet with nine points. Florida State won the meet with 91 points, followed by Virginia Tech (81 points) and Louisville and Clemson tied with 73 points. This marks the sixth time in ACC history that one school has swept both the men's and women's ACC Indoor titles in the same year as the Seminoles also won the men's competition. The women's track MVP was Emmonnie Henderson of Louisville who won the indoor shot put for the third consecutive year.

Junior Paige Duca earned All-ACC Honors for her third place finish in the one mile run. She crossed the line in 4:44.34.

BC Highlights:
- The distance medley relay team of Julia Gregory (1200), Johanna Celli (400), Molly McCabe (800) and Duca (1600) finished in sixth place with a season-best time of 11:17.94.
- Freshman Jessica Creedon earned ninth place in the pentathlon with 3589 points, which is a PR for the rookies. Creedon also earned PR's in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.25 and the long jump with a jump of 5.38 meters.
- Senior Julia Barron raced the 400 meter dash in 56.25.
- Junior Molly McCabe earned a 13th place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:12.30. Senior Shannon Ahern finished right behind in 14th place overall, crossing the line in 2:13.05.
- Duca qualified for the finals in the one mile run. She finished in third place overall, crossing the line in 4:44.34 to earn a bronze in the event.
- Senior Julia Gregory finished in the top 20 in the one mile run with a time of 4:58.80.
- Freshman Jillian Skerry took 20th place in the 5000 meter run, crossing the line in 17:17.11.
- In the field events, sophomore Julia Lyons earned a 10th place finish in the long jump with a jump of 5.82 meters.
- Creedon took 13th place in the high jump, clearing 1.69 meters.
- The women's 4x400 meter relay of Barron, Celli, Heil and McCabe took 10th place overall, crossing the line in 3:45.39.
