Boston College will host No. 14/18 Minnesota (8-0) on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the third consecutive home game this month. This will be the first ranked team the Eagles have faced this season.

BC is coming off an 83-46 victory over Bryant on Thursday night. The Eagles held Bryant to just five points in the first quarter and 19 in the first half. BC fell two steals shy of the single game program record with 18 steals in the game. Junior Taylor Ortlepp (15 points) had six steals, the most by a BC player since 2015 when Karima Gabriel had five in one game.

Minnesota is coached by legendary former WNBA guard Lindsay Whalen, who is in her first season. The 8-0 Golden Gophers the third best start in program history. The Gophers defeated Incarnate Word, 75-39, on Wednesday night.

- The two teams first met in 2004 in the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles fell, 76-63, as current Gophers head coach Lindsay Whalen had 15 points and 10 assists. BC was led by Jess Deveny with 18 points, while Clare Droesch added 17.

- BC and Minnesota share two common opponents – Syracuse and URI. The Eagles will play the Cuse twice this season – Feb. 10 on the road and March 3 at home. Minnesota defeated Syracuse, 72-68, at home in the 2018 ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 28.

- There is another connection between BC and Minnesota. Assistant coach Danielle O'Banion '01 played at BC from 1997-2001. She was a member of the first two NCAA Tournament teams at Boston College.
