No. 22 Boston College women's soccer team will host Hofstra in a first-round game of the 2018 NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 9 at the Newton Soccer Field (7 p.m.). Â The winner of the BC-Hofstra game will play the winner of the Memphis-Wisconsin game Nov. 16 in the second round of the tournament.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate. The game will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra.

This is the 19th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the women's soccer program. Boston College has been to nine Sweet 16's, three Elite Eight's and of course the 2010 College Cup. Â It is the first trip back to the tournament since 2015.

BC vs. Hofstra
- BC and Hofstra have played four times. The Eagles lead the overall series, 4-0.
- The first meeting took place in August of 2010, as the Eagles cruised to a 5-0 victory. In the NCAA Tournament that fall, BC defeated the Pride, 3-1.
- The teams played in 2012 as the Eagles pulled out a 2-0 victory. In 2013 a wild game took place in New York. BC won in overtime, 6-5, behind a goal from McKenzie Meehan with just three minutes into the action.

- Boston College has outscored opponents this year, 43-12. The 12 goals by opponents stands as the second lowest allowed in program history. The record was 10, set by the 2007 team.
- The Eagles have scored nine goals off corner kicks.
- Sophomore Sam Coffey, who named the ACC's Midfielder of the Year, tallied a point in 14 of 19 games this season. She led the conference in scoring with 12 goals, 14 assists and 38 points. She needs one more assist to tie the program record held by Allison David, set in 1992.
- BC is ranked 22nd by the United Coaches Assoc. poll this week, while Soccer America and Top Drawer have the Eagles at No. 25.
