Eagles climb five spots in this week’s CFP Top 25 rankings
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The second College Football Playoff Selection Committee rankings of the 2018 season were announced Tuesday evening and Boston College was ranked 17th. The Eagles climbed five spots after its 31-21 win at Virginia Tech last Saturday. BC debuted at No. 22 in last week's initial College Football Playoff rankings.
Â
BC is 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the ACC.
Â
Boston College's 7-2 start to the season is the best start by a BC team since the 2007 squad opened the year 8-1. This year's 7-2 record marks just the fourth time since 2000 BC has started 7-2 or better.Â
Â
The Eagles return to action Saturday in an ACC showdown against No. 2 Clemson. The game will be televised by ABC at 8 p.m. and has already been announced as a sellout.
Â
Saturday's day begins with the 357th installation of College GameDay will air live on ESPN from 9 a.m. – noon ET at Stokes Lawn on-campus. The 10-time Emmy award-winning college football traveling road show is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, David Pollack and Maria Taylor, as well as contributors Chris "The Bear" Fallica, Jen Lada, Tom Rinaldi and Gene Wojciechowski.Â
