Eagles show progress on both sides of the ball during competitive spring session
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Day eight of spring practice kicked off on Thursday morning for the 2026 Boston College Football program. In a shorter practice, the Eagles covered a lot of ground, including red-zone work and two-minute situations.
It was the offense that was on the same page early, with Reed Swanson hauling in a long ball down the Fish Field House sideline on one of the first plays of the opening competitive team period.
Later in the period, early enrollee Sedric Addison broke loose for a long run before Femi Babalola hit Zach Schnorrbusch on a touch pass to the corner of the field.
Mason McKenzie drove the offense into the end zone on several occasions as the practice session continued, finding Johnathan Montague Jr. for a pair of touchdowns in the red zone, one to Nolan Ray out of the backfield and one to Florida transfer Cameron Kossmann as well.
The Eagles closed out Thursday's practice with some situational two-minute work. The play of the day for the offense came when McKenzie found Danny Edgehille across the middle for a touchdown.
The defense ended Thursday's practice on a high note, with Njita Sinkala blanketing Reed Swanson in the corner of the end zone and pushing the wide receiver out of bounds despite the one-handed catch. Second-year defensive back Charleston Coldon picked off a pass on the final play of the day to end practice.
The Eagles will hold their final practice of the week on Saturday morning. Practices are closed to the public.
