Walker-Weinstein Named IWLCA Regional Coach of the Year

CORONADO SPRINGS, Fla. – Boston College women's lacrosse head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein has been honored as a Regional Coach of the Year during the 2018 Honors Banquet hosted by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. Walker-Weinstein joins coaches Joe Spallina of Stony Brook, Shelley Klaes-Bawcombe of James Madison and Ann Elliott Whidden of the University of Colorado as the Division I honorees.

Walker-Weinstein has led the Eagles to back-to-back National Championship appearances in 2017 and 2018. The most recent championship run was preceded by a spotless regular season stint as the team went a perfect 22-0.

Walker-Weinstein also earned IWLCA Northeast Region Coach of the Year and IWLCA National Coach of the Year honors following the 2017 season. After taking the helm following the 2012 season, Walker-Weinstein became the fastest coach in program history to reach 50 wins (74 games).

The Eagles begin their 2019 run on February 9 with a Commonwealth Avenue battle, playing host to Boston University.
