
No. 4 Eagles Resume Play with UConn Home-and-Home Series

BC heads to Storrs, Conn. on Friday night before hosting the Huskies at Kelley Rink on Saturday afternoon.

Boston College (8-3-0, 5-1-0 HEA) will travel to UConn (6-5-1, 3-4-1 HEA) for a 6 p.m. game on Friday, Nov. 16 at the Freitas Ice Forum before returning to Kelley Rink on Saturday, Nov. 17 for a 2 p.m. tilt.

This weekend's games wrap up the teams' three-game regular season conference series. The squads met in Chestnut Hill on Nov. 1, with the Eagles blanking the Huskies, 3-0. Freshman Maddy McArthur made 19 saves for her second career shutout while Daryl Watts, Megan Keller and Savannah Norcross each scored a goal. Eight players total registered points for BC in the win.

The Eagles head into Friday's game at UConn with two weeks of rest, having last played at Providence on Nov. 3. BC dropped that contest, 4-2, to end an eight-game winning streak. UConn is coming off a 1-1-0 Hockey East weekend, falling to Boston University (4-1) on Nov. 9 and topping Maine (4-1) on Nov. 10.

Following Saturday's game, the Eagles will return to the ice on Tuesday, Nov. 20 for the first meeting of the year with rival Boston University. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at Kelley Rink.

• Morgan Fisher has played over 80 percent of the team's minutes in goal, going 5-4-1 with a 2.00 goals against average, .930 save percentage and posting one shutout.
• Junior forward Catherine Crawley, who had a goal and two assists in the win over Maine, has at least one point in each of the 12 games that she has played in this season ... her 13 points (5-8-13) leads the Huskies.
• UConn, who was tabbed sixth in the preseason coaches' poll, knocked off BC last year in the conference tournament semifinals en route to a runner-up finish.

• The Eagles lead the all-time series between the teams, 32-15-9 ... the teams just met on Nov. 1 at Conte Forum, with BC winning 3-0 in Maddy McArthur's second career shutout.
• UConn took the 2018 Hockey East Tournament semifinal game, 4-2, to snap a 14-game BC unbeaten streak in the series.
• At Kelley Rink, BC is 18-6-2 against the Huskies … BC is 12-8-7 against UConn in Storrs ... the teams have met three times on neutral ice, both holding a 2-1 lead there.
• The Eagles are 15-0-1 at home vs. Connecticut since the 2007-08 season.

• Freshman Kelly Browne is second amongst Hockey East rookies in faceoff wins with 91 and eighth overall in the league.
• Daryl Watts is averaging 4.82 shots on goal per game, which is fourth overall in Hockey East.
• Cayla Barnes leads BC with 17 blocks, which is tied for 10th in the conference.
• Five different players have scored game-winning goals for BC.

DUTY CALLS
• Four current Eagles along with Emily Pfalzer '15 were a part of the U.S. National Team that won the 2018 Four Nations Cup last week in Saskatchewan.
• Megan Keller, Kali Flanagan, Cayla Barnes and Caitrin Lonergan joined Pfalzer in the country's fourth consecutive Four Nations title.
• Keller, Flanagan, Barnes and Pfalzer were a part of the gold-medal winning team at the 2018 Olympics.
• Lonergan made her senior national team debut at the tournament.
• The quartet of current student-athletes missed BC's game at Providence on Nov. 3.
DEFENSE CHIPPIN' IN
• In addition to help Boston College rank fourth in the country in goals against per game (1.45), the Eagles' defensive corps sits third in the country in points scored with 31.
• BC blue liners have scored nine goals, tied for first in the country, and a nation-leading seven have come on the power play.
• The BC defense has chipped in on 28 percent of the squad's goals, 39% of the assists and 35% of the overall point total.
