Five different players score in first-ever meeting with the Crusaders.
WORCESTER, Mass. – With goals from five different players and an 18-save performance from Maddy McArthur, the No. 6/6 Boston College women's hockey team took the first-ever game against Holy Cross with a 5-1 win on Friday night at the Hart Center Arena.
BC notched four goals in the second period to break the game open and extend its unbeaten streak to six games. Eight different players registered at least one point for the Eagles while four had multiple-point performances.
Megan Keller's power-play goal late in the first period gave BC the edge at the first intermission. McArthur's chest save on an odd-woman at the beginning of the second period kept BC in the lead and the Eagles took control from there on out. Four goals were scored in the next 11 minutes of play, including Kelly Browne's first career tally, a short-handed score from Lindsay Agnew and Kali Flanagan's first of the season.
BC had looks in the first 10 minutes of the final frame but couldn't put another one in. Holy Cross turned around and generated looks on a power-play but McArthur had a diving save at the right post and Maegan Beres and Makenna Newkirk had big blocks to close it out.
