
Eagles Finalize Regular Season Stint With 0-0 Tie at Syracuse

The men's soccer team awaits ACC Tournament seeding after the regular-season conclusion
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Boston College men's soccer team battled to a blank-score overtime tie, 0-0, with conference foe No. 20 Syracuse, Friday night on the road. The Eagles end their regular season with a 4-7-4 overall record with a 2-5-1 mark in ACC play while the Orange move to 7-5-4 overall and 1-4-3 in conference.
The first half of the contest showed no change in score, despite each team picking up a corner kick opportunity. Simon Enstrom and Ronaldinho Diniz led the Eagles over the first half with a shot a piece as goalkeeper Antonio Chavez Borrelli recorded eight saves to Orange keeper Hendrik Hilpert's two.
Over the opening half, the Eagles defense pulled through as the Orange recorded five shots and a corner kick within four minutes.
Syracuse held a heavy offensive upper-hand over the Eagles throughout the entirety of the second half as Boston College recorded four shots but Syracuse found nine of their own. As the score remained blank to end regulation, the contest moved to overtime but neither team could capitalize on any opportunities to wrap up the game. The match ended with the Orange holding a 24-9 advantage on shots, including nine shots on goal to BC's three. Diniz and Trevor Davock led the shot attempts for the Eagles, each recording three over the night.
