
Eagles Head to No. 20 UConn for Non-Conference Road Test

The match marks BC's sixth game of 2018 against a ranked opponent
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College men's soccer team will play its sixth game of the season against a ranked opponent on Tuesday night, traveling to Storrs, Conn. to take on the UConn Huskies. The non-conference game is slated for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium. A stream will be available on UConnHuskies.com's Husky Vision
The game was originally scheduled to be played on Tuesday, Sept. 18 but it was rescheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16 due to rain.
Both the Eagles (4-4-3, 2-4-0 ACC) and the Huskies (7-2-2, 2-0-2 American) last played on Friday night. BC pushed No. 2 Wake Forest hard but ultimately fell, 2-1, while the Huskies battled the UCF Knights to a scoreless double overtime draw. Tuesday's meeting marks just the seventh time since the Eagles joined the ACC in 2006 that BC and UConn will meet. Against UConn, Boston College is 2-0-3 in the last five meetings with the Huskies.

ABOUT UCONN
• The Huskies enter Tuesday's contest ranked 20th in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll and with a 7-2-2 overall record … overall, UConn is ranked in four polls.
• On Oct. 12, the Huskies took on the UCF Knights and payed to a scoreless draw.
• Head coach Ray Reid is in his 22nd season at the helm of the Huskies.
• The Huskies and Eagles have both played at Notre Dame this season, with the Fighting Irish topping both BC (1-0) and UConn (3-0).
THE SERIES vs. UCONN
• BC holds a record of 2-3-0 in the last five meetings with UConn.
• Annual rivals for more than 20 years will in the Big East, Tuesday's meeting marks just the seventh between the teams since the Eagles joined the ACC in 2006.
• This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Huskies and Eagles will meet.
• The previous two meetings have been decided in overtime.
• Last season, Callum Johnson scored in the 104th minute to give BC a 3-2 double-overtime victory. The Eagles were down 2-0 in the 77th minute but Simon Enstrom and Joshua Forbes tied it up before Johnson's one-timer game-winner in extra time.

• Bump BC to 5-4-3 overall and 2-0-3 in non-conference play.
• Give the program an overall record of 441-389-105 and 282-231-63 under head coach Ed Kelly.
LAST TIME OUT
• Boston College pushed No. 2 Wake Forest to the limit on Friday night but ultimately fell, 2-1 on the road.
• The hosts took a 1-0 lead into halftime but Trevor Davock scored his first goal of the season less than 10 minutes into the second half to tie it up.
• The Demon Deacons then went back up for good in the 75th minute and held off the Eagles' comeback.
• Both teams were assessed a red card in the 30th minute and the squads played 10-vs-10 for the remainder of the game.
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS
• All 11 of BC's regular season games this season have been decided by one goal or less (as were both preseason contests).
• This is the longest such streak to open a season on record for the program.
• Under head coach Ed Kelly, the Eagles have opened up a season with five straight one goal or less games three times (2008, 2002, 1991).
• Four of BC's games this season have had 1-0 score lines, with the Eagles going 2-2-0 in those contests.
• In the 2016 season, 14 of BC's 21 games were decided by one goal or less.
ENSTROM COMING IN CLUTCH
• In all four of the Eagles' wins this season, Simon Enstrom has scored the game-winning goal.
• The senior's brace lifted BC to a 2-1 win over Quinnipiac in the season opener while his 89th minute goal earned a win over Clemson on Sept. 7 and his 61st did it against NC State on Oct. 5.
• Against Harvard on Oct. 9, Enstrom's second minute goal stood to be the game-winner.
• Enstrom also has two key game-tying goals on the season, doing it against Boston University on Aug. 27 with an 87th minute score and versus Holy Cross on Sept. 11.
