Eagles Return to Power Gym for Conference Homestand

Matches against Florida State and Miami on tap
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After spending two weeks on the road, the Boston College volleyball team returns to the Heights for a four-game homestand beginning this weekend with matches against Florida State and Miami.
Florida State is 9-7 overall, bringing a 22-0 all-time record in against the Eagles into the weekend. Miami is 9-4 this year and own a 24-2 record against Boston College. Both teams sit at 5-1 in the conference with their only ACC losses coming to undefeated No. 6 Pittsburgh.
"They're both very good," Eagles' head coach Jason Kennedy said. "Traditionally, Florida State is obviously a pretty big powerhouse in volleyball, they've been to the tournament several times and they know what it takes to get there and compete. They've got some really good athletes. Miami was there last year, they're kind of building on that and they're off to a hot start again."
The Eagles, 12-6 overall and 2-4 in ACC action, are coming off of a pair of road losses to Virginia and Pitt, but have the home-court advantage on their side. The Eagles are undefeated in Power Gym this year and have some momentum from their last match, despite coming away with a loss.
"I actually thought the match against Pitt was one of the better matches we have played as a whole," Kennedy said. "Our hitting percentage was better than it had been in a little bit, and I think we showed a lot more consistency. We really didn't give up any big runs.
"It's nice to be home after being on the road for a couple weeks. We're excited to kind of get some normalcy back. We're home for two weeks in a row now, so after being out on the road for two weeks, it gives us a chance to get a little more practice time in and a chance to focus on things a little bit more. Hopefully we'll get some growth out of this week and be able to play two clean matches this weekend."
The Eagles will face Florida State on Friday at 7:30 p.m. before matching up with Miami on Sunday at noon. Both matches in Power Gym will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Sunday's match is Alumni Day and Father-Daughter Day.
