Softball Sweeps Weekend Fall Games

Murphy and Randazza shine against Sacred Heart and BU
The Boston College softball team won both of its fall games this past weekend, defeating Sacred Heart, 4-1, in eight innings on Saturday and winning 9-2 over Boston University on Sunday.
Senior Annie Murphy had a strong performance, including a three-run home run, two runs scored and a double on the weekend and freshman Gianna Randazza drove in two runs on a base hit during Sunday's game to solidify the victory for BC. The Eagles pitching staff only allowed two hits and struck out seven in Saturday's victory.

- Murphy drew a walk in the first inning. She promptly stole second and then scored off of a base hit by Ergle.
- After a collection of hits by Griesser and DiEmmanuel, Murphy hit a three-run home run to give the Eagles a 4-1 victory.

- Ergle was three-for-three on the day with a walk.
- Moore finished two-for-three with a walk and an RBI.
- Sharabba recorded three RBIs and classmate Jordan Chimento tallied two RBIs and was one-for-two with a walk and hit by pitch.
- Ergle started the rally in the second inning with a base hit, which was followed by another base hit by Moore. After a walk by junior Carly Severini, Chimento drove home two runs with an RBI single up the middle. Griesser drove in a third run with an RBI ground out to second base.
- In the fourth inning, Ergle and Moore drew back-to-back walks and Severini recorded an RBI with a base hit.
- The Eagles scored five runs in the seventh inning. Chimento began the inning with a walk, which was followed by a base hit to right field by Griesser and a bunt single by DiEmmanuel. Randazza picked up two RBIs on a base hit to right field.
- Murphy kept the rally going with a double to left field for an RBI. Ergle hit a single to drive in Murphy and Sellers scored on an error by the BU shortstop.
