Cami Sellers hit game-winning double to beat the Huskies
The Boston College softball team played its first fall game on Sunday, Sept. 17th, defeating the University of Connecticut, 6-5, in ten innings.

Freshmen Jenna Ergle and Cami Sellers already made their mark in the maroon and gold, notching a home run and game-winning double, respectively. Senior pitcher Allyson Frei took the mound for the first time since April 30, 2016, throwing four strikeouts in four innings in Sunday afternoon's victory over the Huskies.

BC Highlights
- In her first college at bat, Ergle hit a three-run home run.
- Senior Chloe Sharabba recorded one double and one RBI. She scored two runs and tallied one stolen base. Classmate Jordan Chimento also had one hit.
- Junior Lexi DiEmmanuele had two hits, two stolen bases and scored one run.
- Sellers notched a game-winning double in the 10th inning to drive in the tying and winning run. Senior Annie Murphy started the rally in the 10th inning with a single and scored on Sharabba's double.
- Juniors Allyson Moore recorded one hit and Carly Severini tallied one double.
- Sophomore Brenna Griesser contributed with one hit and one stolen base. Â
- Frei started on the mound for the first time since April 30, 2016 when she hurled seven shutout innings against Syracuse. She recorded four strikeouts in four innings on Sunday.
- Senior Jessica Dreswick picked up three strikeouts in two innings pitched.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles scoring started early in the game when Sharabba drew a walk. Sellers reached on an error made by the Huskies shortstop and then Ergle smashed a three-run home run.
- In the 10th inning, Murphy and DiEmmanuele hit a pair of singles to reach base safely. Sharabba hit a double to drive in Murphy. Sellers followed with another double to drive in Sharabba and Sellers and cap off the score at 6-5.
