The Eagles continue to play baseball across the country this summer
Many members of the Boston College baseball team are spending their summers spread out across the country continuing to play baseball in summer leagues. Here is an update on how the Eagles are faring.Â
Dante Baldelli (So., OF) - New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Baldelli has recorded 17 hits, including three doubles, 11 runs, 15 walks and six RBIs for the Bay Sox. He was 1-for-3 with a double in Wednesday's 8-7 win over Danbury. New Bedford is 15-19 on the summer.
Austin Batchelor (So., RHP) - North Shore Navigators, Futures Collegiate Baseball League
Batchelor has made three appearances for the Navigators, throwing a total of 4.1 relief innings. He has struck out three, allowed four hits and recorded one save. The Navs are 16-22 on the season.
Mitch Bigras (Sr., 1B/LHP) - Kalamazoo Growlers, Northwoods League
Bigras is batting .348 in 15 games for the Growlers. He has logged eight hits in the last seven games played. He has tallied seven RBIs, 14 walks, five doubles and 10 runs. The lefty has also made three appearances on the hill, striking out two, walking one and allowing just two hits and two runs. Kalamazoo is 15-32 on the season.
Jack Cunningham (So., UT/RHP) - Baltimore Redbirds, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League
Cunningham is batting .314 and has logged at least two hits in the last five games. He has recorded 33 hits, including five doubles and two home runs, 19 runs, 10 RBIs, six walks and nine stolen bases for the Redbirds this summer. They righty has made five appearances but has not pitched since July 5. He is 1-0 with a save. The Redbirds are 24-14 and have clinched the Cal Ripken North Division and a playoff birth.
Carmen Giampetruzzi (Sr., LHP) - Edenton Steamers, Coastal Plain League
Giampetruzzi has recorded a 2.91 ERA with a 2-1 record. His seven saves leads the Coastal Plain League. In 21.2 innings, the left-hander has allowed just 13 hits, seven earned runs, 10 walks and has struck out 30. Opponents are batting just .160 against Giampetruzzi. The Steamers are 23-16 on the summer.
Matt Gill (So, RHP) - Keene Swamp Bats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Gill has made six appearances for the Swamp Bats, recording a 3.18 ERA with 12 strikeouts, four walks and 11 hits. His last appearance came on Wednesday in a 5-4 win for the Swamp Bats, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing a hit and walk and striking out three. Keene is 17-17 and sits in third place in the Northern Division of the NECBL.
Mikey Giordano (So., RHP) - Sanford River Rats, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Giordano has made eight appearances for the River Rats with one start. He has thrown 10 innings, allowing 11 hits and struck out four.Â
Jake Goodreau (So., C) - Purcellville Cannons, Valley Baseball League
Goodreau has logged eight hits, three runs and six walks for the Cannons. He drew a walk in the Valley Baseball League's walk-off win over the Ripken Collegiate League in the Southern Collegiate Showcase. The Cannons are 22-14 and in first place in the VBL North Division.Â
Sean Hughes (Jr., RHP) -Â Edenton Steamers, Coastal Plain League
Hughes has a 4.60 ERA over 16 appearances, third-most on the Steamers. He has been part of two combined shutouts, has allowed just five hits over 15.2 innings and struck out 21. The Steamers are 23-16 on the summer.
Thomas Lane (Jr., RHP) - Amsterdam Mohawks, Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League
Lane is 3-1 with a 2.35 for the Mohawks. He has made seven starts and eight total appearances this summer, striking out 36 with 21 walks and 26 hits over 34.1 innings. He also threw a perfect inning of relief in the PGCBL Prospect Showcase. The Mohawks are 29-9, the best record in the league, and rank fourth on College Summer Baseball's Top 35 list.
Gian Martellini (Jr., C) - Cotuit Kettlers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Martellini has recorded 15 hits, including three doubles and two home runs and nine runs. His 12 RBIs are fifth in the league in his first summer on the Cape. The Kettlers are tied for second in West division with a 16-15 record.Â
Anthony Maselli (Sr., INF) -Â Edenton Steamers, Coastal Plain League
Maselli has logged 28 hits, including five doubles and five home runs and 28 runs. He is tied for the second-most RBIs on the team with 27 and his 30 walks leads the Steamers. He is also stolen a perfect 21-for-21 on the stolen-base path, also leading the Coastal Plain League. The Steamers are 23-16 on the summer.
Dan Metzdorf (So., LHP) - Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Metzdorf is 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA for the Anglers. He has made seven appearances, all in relief, recording 10 strikeouts, 13 hits and five walks in 12.2 innings. The Anglers are 16-17 and in third place in the East Division of the CCBL.
Jack Nelson (Jr., RHP) -Â New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Nelson is 2-2 with a 3.42 ERA for the Bay Sox. He has started seven games, allowed 38 hits, just eight walks and has struck out 26 over 42 innings. He threw a complete-game shutout, striking out five, on July 6 and went on to throw a seven-inning start the next time out. In that no-decision, the righty allowed just one run and six hits without walking a batter and struck out four. New Bedford is 15-19 on the summer.
Jake Palomaki (Sr., INF) -Â Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Palomaki has recorded 19 hits, including three doubles and a home run, for the Anglers. He has logged eight RBIs, 19 walks and four stolen bases. Palomaki has played the infield, but also seen time in the outfield for the A's. His walks total is third in the league. Chatham is 16-17 and in third place in the East Division of the CCBL.
Brian Rapp (Sr., RHP) - Cotuit Kettlers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Rapp has made four appearances in the Cape, throwing 9.1 innings with one start. He has struck out 10, allowed 10 walks and seven hits. In his last outing on July 16, the righty did not allow a hit or run in three innings of relief. He struck out three and walked two. The Kettlers are tied for second in West division with a 16-15 record.Â
Aaron Soucy (So., C) - Wisconsin Woodchucks, Northwoods League
Soucy has tallied 17 hits, including a double and two home runs, eight runs, seven RBIs and six walks for the Woodchucks. He has a hit in six of the last 10 games played and has driven in three. The Woodchucks are 20-28 on the season.Â
Jacob Stevens (Jr., RHP) -Â Chatham Anglers, Cape Cod Baseball League
Stevens has made five starts in the Cape League, recording a 3.78 ERA. He has allowed 24 hits, 12 walks and 14 Ks over 19.0 innings. In his last outing on July 18, he went four, allowing just one unearned run, four hits and one walk while striking out four, a summer-high. Chatham is 16-17 and in third place in the East Division of the CCBL.
Brandon Stone (Fr., INF) - Del Ray Lightning, South Florida Collegiate League
Incoming freshman Stone has 24 runs, 24 hits, including four doubles, 14 RBIs, 24 walks and five stolen bases for the Lightning this summer.  He earned a spot on the SFCL North Division All-Star Team. The Lightning finished the regular season in first in the North Division with a 23-12 record and are the No. 2 seed in the SFBL playoffs.Â
Zach Stromberg (Jr., LHP) - Kenosha Kingfish, Northwoods League
Stromberg is 3-1 for the Kingfish with a 1.88 ERA and one save. In 10 appearances, he has struck out 28, allowed just eight walks and allowed 28 hits over 28.2 innings. Kenosha is 27-20 overall, third in the South Division of the Northwoods League.
John Witkowski (Jr., RHP) - Harwich Mariners, Cape Cod Baseball League
Witkowski has appeared in eight games with one start for the Mariners, recording a 4.26 ERA with 17 strikeouts. He has allowed just four walks over 19 innings. Harwich is 10-22 on the season.Â
Jacob Yish (So., OF) - Rome Generals, New York Collegiate Baseball League
Yish is batting .291 with 23 hits, including two doubles and homer, 17 runs, seven RBIs and seven walks in 25 games for the Generals. He is third on the team with 10 stolen bases. Rome is sitting 20-18 on the season.
